On December 4, 2021 Andrew & Lacey did the damn thing and got married 🤘🏻🎉
It was especially an honor for me to photograph this wedding because Andrew & I played football together in high school, and after talking with both of them together it felt like I knew Lacey from high school, too.
I met up with Andrew and the guys at the Reformed Church of Poughkeepsie and we got stashed in a room to hang out while Lacey and the bridesmaids got their hair and makeup done in their suite downstairs. The guys arrived dressed and ready to roll so they were able to just chill and talk, and I took Andrew aside for some quick portraits.
When the girls were almost finished with their hair and makeup I went down to the suite and got started on the bridal detail photos until they were done. I broke out my product-photography side and had fun playing with some different focal lengths and perspectives, and she especially wanted the shoes highlighted. How could she not? These things were crazy beautiful!
After Lacey got dressed I came back in as she put on the finishing touches – the shoes, the earrings, the veil, and the last bits of makeup. She looked freakin’ incredible.
Their ceremony was extra sweet because Andrew’s dad performed it and married them. The church had some Christmas decorations set up and it was a huuuuge and beautiful space, you could see the history of the architecture in the room.
We waited for all of the guests to head to cocktail hour so we could take group photos in front of the alter, followed by a few bride & groom portraits in the ceremony space. Bing, Bang, Boom, nice and easy, then off to enjoy cocktail hour with their friends.
Andrew & Lacey are such a fun couple that of course they drew one of the highest-energy crowds I’ve ever seen (a large amount who I also knew from high school) and the reception at Locust Grove Estates was CRAZY. Being surrounded by a bunch of people I’ve known for a long time made this wedding so easy-going and effortless. Everyone loved showing off for the camera, and I was able to get awesome photos of all the guests having the time of their lives. My goal for every wedding is to show how truly fucking fun it was, and this reception with these great guests made that so easy to do. Enjoy!
